International Yoga Day Celebration
Fostering physical, mental, and emotional health by practicing yoga
The word yoga has been derived from the Sanskrit word “Yoke”, which means “Union”. The union of human anatomy, soul and brain. This union encourages peace of mind by establishing a harmonious balance between an individual’s mental, physical, and emotional health while adding spiritual values.
If we look back to history, Yoga has been practiced since ancient times by our ancestors and evidently, it helped them in multiple aspects of their lives. We want our employees to experience those invaluable benefits of practicing Yoga which encouraged us to celebrate International Yoga Day at SilverXis Inc.
Let us reveal a glimpse of our 9th International Yoga Day celebration which was observed in the presence of our CEO, Mrs. Nirali Thakkar, and the chief guests Ms. Aarti and Ms. Himadri from Aarti’s Yoga Studio, Ahmedabad.
Begun with a warm welcome, prayer and indulging interaction about Yoga
The host of the event, Ms Hiral Chauhan, SEO Manager at Silverxis, gave an engaging speech to kick off the celebration. She discussed the value of yoga in daily life. Moving further, she projected the exceptional accomplishments of our eminent chief guests and warmly welcomed them into the family of IT professionals and digital pilots.
Ms Aarti, the chief guest (yoga expert), responded to the introduction by expressing her sincere gratitude and continued on the programme with the engrossing interaction about what yoga is. And how does this affect our mental, physical, and emotional well-being? How does this benefit boosting our creativity and productivity at work? Everyone present there took part enthusiastically.
We had a very soulful prayer by reciting shloka that helped us calm our mind and body while connecting to the source of energy, the supreme soul, by following the ancient tradition. The shloka’s words were as follows:
ॐ सह नाववतु । सह नौ भुनक्तु । सह वीर्यं करवावहै । तेजस्वि नावधीतमस्तु मा विद्विषावहै । ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥
By this sloka, we were praying to God, that he may protect all of us. We may work in harmony with the purest energy, and whatever task/role we perform be just as excellent as possible. May we continue to encourage one another with kindness, tenderness, and respect, never fostering hostility within us. Om Shanti! Let there be peace in my surroundings! Let the forces that act on me be at peace.
Experiencing Exceptional Power of Yoga
We practiced yoga for an hour, beginning with warm-up Yoga steps and accelerating to muscular relaxation steps and several Prayanam. Ms Arti also taught a few exercises to adjust the body posture of corporate personnel like us in order to avoid an out-of-line physical appearance.
Moving on, she provided a thought-provoking distinction between processed food and hygienic food while emphasizing the need of maintaining a healthy diet to avoid digestive and health issues.
Question-Answer Session
We have a few yogis who practice yoga on a regular basis, as well as some fitness aspirants who have been encouraged to take care of their health and encompass some good habits into their lives. They had some questions, which Ms Aarti welcomed and addressed effectively and with dignity.
Token of Appreciation
Our CEO, Nirali Thakkar, took the stage and expressed her heartfelt gratitude to our Yoga experts by offering her a pot of Tulsi as a token of gratitude. She concluded the International Yoga Day celebration by encouraging employees to live a healthy lifestyle and develop good emotional, mental, and physical balance while balancing their work-life.
Finally, as a token of appreciation for employees’ invaluable contribution to the cheerful celebration of International Yoga Day, protein bars were distributed and the event wrapped up joyfully.
